Pain is one thing Susan knows like the back of her hand. Love is one thing she wishes for. Clarity is another problem that she has that she could do without. Trust is an issue she deals with that gives her a cloudy vision that makes it hard for her to believe she's loved, which brings forth pain she's so desperately trying to escape. Her smiles are momentary, her tears are plentiful, she loves hard, and is tried at every corner she turns. After all the heartache and pain, she's numb. A kiss doesn't have affection, a hug isn't warm, her heart doesn't beat on time, and the man who wants and needs her most is paying the price in numb.
